When people struggle financially, they are often desperate to improve their situation. However, this rarely means turning to illegal activities. Despite this, police in Minnesota claim that a man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly admitted to selling drugs to make more money.

The man charged in the case is 44 years old. Police say that he first came to their attention after drug buyers reportedly told them they were obtaining drugs from the man’s residence. This information resulted in a search of a trailer and workshop.

Police said that as part of the search, they discovered crystal chunks that tested positive for meth, marijuana, a scale, plastic baggies and approximately $1,000 in cash as well as other drug paraphernalia. He allegedly told police that he had been selling drugs for six months to earn extra money. Unfortunately, he faces multiple criminal charges as a result, including first-degree controlled substance crimes of sale, third-degree controlled substance crime of sale and second-degree controlled substance crime of possession. He would likely spend several decades behind bars if convicted of the crimes he is facing.

Unfortunately, the average person often has little experience with the criminal justice system. When the stakes are as high as they are in this case, seeking advice from a professional in Minnesota with legal experience could be beneficial. An attorney can help someone facing criminal charges examine all of their options and their potential consequences, ensuring that they are able to make informed decisions, including whether to fight the charges in court or pursue a plea deal.
