People handle conflict in a variety of different ways. Often, conflict only involves verbal confrontation. However, police say that a man in Minnesota resorted to violence following an incident on a bus. That man now faces criminal charges are a result of the alleged incident.

Police say the altercation happened on a day in April. According to reports, three woman got on the bus, and one of them began cursing. The bus driver reportedly asked her to stop. Because the bus driver says the woman became combative, he stopped the bus and contacted authorities.

In the meantime, a woman on the bus reportedly called her boyfriend who allegedly arrived at the bus before authorities could. Police say the man escorted his girlfriend off the bus before confronting the bus driver. Reports indicate that the man then began assaulting the bus driver, who suffered abrasions and bleeding. The boyfriend has since been arrested and faces charges of third-degree assault and obstructing operation of a transit vehicle; additional charges could be filed. The man claims that the bus driver used a racial slur against him, but police argue that it cannot be heard on a recording a witness made.

Many people in Minnesota who are facing criminal charges feel overwhelmed as a result of the accusations against them. In some cases, they may be unaware of the potential implications of the information they may provide police officers during initial questioning in addition to being unable to recognize unlawful treatment. Fortunately, there are experienced criminal defense attorneys who can guide those facing such charges through the process, ensuring that they are fully informed of their options and the potential consequences of each.
