Losing Your Vehicle Is A Real Possibility

For certain DWI offenses, the state may take your vehicle away and either keep it or sell it. You are likely in danger of vehicle forfeiture if:

  • This is your third DWI in the past 10 years
  • Your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .16 or more
  • You were driving on a suspended or revoked license
  • Your case involves other aggravating factors

As the owner and founder of my firm,  I am skilled at presenting “innocent owner” defenses and other defenses to help you work to keep your primary car and any other motor vehicles you own. I am available to review the facts of your case and inform you of your rights before it’s too late.

License Plate Impoundment Could Impact Every Vehicle You Own

If your DWI violation involves an aggravating factor, your license plates can be impounded. Aggravating factors include:

  • A prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years
  • Having a child under age 16 in the vehicle
  • A blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .20 or more
  • Already having lost your license for being a public danger

The license plate impoundment applies to not only the vehicle you were driving. It also applies to all other vehicles you own or co-own. During the minimum one-year impoundment, you will not be allowed to drive any of your vehicles unless they display specially coded plates and you have been relicensed.
